Costas Varotsos, along with Thanasis Totsikas, Rena Papaspyrou, Bia Davou, Diohanti, Lyda Papakonstantinou and Christos Tzibelos (the artists who participated in the exhibition Europalia '82) presents his work at the Gate of Famagusta, next to the Green Line of the dichotomized city, for the exhibition 7 Greek artists-A new voyage, curated by Efi Stouza and under the privy purse of the institution of art DESTE.

Costas Varotsos creates the Poet, his first large-scale, three-dimensional artwork, which reflects his quest on space and the historical moment. The glass Poet gives material substance to the power and the sharpness of poetic expression. Today the artwork is situated in Nicosia.
