After accepting the invitation of the Abruzzo prefecture in central Italy, Varotsos participates in an art project organized by the people and city officials of Gessopallena and proposes the reparation of La Morgia that was "wounded" after an explosion during the Second World War.
The work, a glass surface that counts 40 meters length, "heals" a violent human act in the natural environment. The work of Morgia functions as a correctional intervention that does not ignore ineffaceable historic signs; on the contrary, it highlights the power of art to redefine the surrounding environment.
